- Education : Bachelor’s degree and graduation from a school of cytotechnology accredited by:
- Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation
- American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
- American Medical Technologist (AMT)
- Other organizations approved by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS)
- Certification :
- Current certification/registration by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- OR possess a current state-issued cytotechnologist license where the laboratory is located
- Experience : Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years as a cytotechnologist
