JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, and maintaining quality standards in the creation of dental prosthetics and restorations. This position plays a key role in supervising production staff, optimizing processes, and supporting the Director of Operations in achieving departmental goals. The Operations Supervisor ensures compliance with industry standards and fosters a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Supervise daily operations within the dental laboratory, ensuring timely and accurate production of crowns, bridges, dentures, and other dental products.
· Monitor workflows and production schedules to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
· Ensure proper utilization of equipment and resources to maximize efficiency.
· Provide guidance and leadership to production teams, including technicians and support staff.
· Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development to team members.
· Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that aligns with organizational values.
· Identify opportunities to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
· Implement process improvements to reduce waste and ensure consistent quality.
· Collaborate with the Director of Operations to develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Ensure all products meet strict quality standards and specifications.
· Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any production issues and implement corrective actions.
· Ensure compliance with dental industry regulations, including OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA standards.
· Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production and compliance.
· Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies to support production needs.
· Coordinate with vendors and procurement teams to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain.
· Communicate operational updates and performance metrics to the Director of Operations.
· Prepare and deliver reports on production outcomes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Other Duties:
· Perform additional tasks as required by the Director of Operations or senior leadership.
· Assist in training new employees and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILIDITIES REQUIRED:
· Strong understanding of dental laboratory workflows and production processes.
· Knowledge of materials, equipment, and tools used in manufacturing dental prosthetics.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
· Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in laboratory management software and tools.
· Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies.
· Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively.
· Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, OSHA, and FDA standards.
