What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader position at Spectrum Landscaping?
1. Position description: The Lawn Maintenance Crew Lead must be generally familiar with and in the process of learning all aspects of Landscape Maintenance to include: cleanups, mowing, mulching, trimming, edging, weed whacking, bed maintenance, etc.; operating all Lawn Care equipment, communicating correct materials needs; and interfacing with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Requires minimal supervision and conducts all jobs in a safe manner and while helping to direct a crew of two to four employees. The Lawn Maintenance Crew Lead must also attend to and complete all assigned paperwork related to the job while helping to create and maintain a professional job atmosphere.
2. Reports to: The Maintenance Crew Lead reports directly to the Account Manager.
3. Skillset and educational requirements: The Maintenance Crew Lead must possess the following skill set and educational background:
A. Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
B. Have a clean criminal record.
C. Legal documentation to verify employment eligibility.
D. Physically able to handle the workload of a Lawn Maintenance Crew Lead and/or Laborer.
E. Able to lift 50 pounds without any assistance.
F. Effectively communicate in Spanish and English in oral and written forms.
G. Able to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner on a daily basis.
4. Responsibilities:
A. Has a minimum of one year of experience in landscape maintenance.
B. Able to operate company truck and all lawn maintenance equipment, safely and effectively.
C. Able to perform all daily preventative maintenance (PM) on company equipment.
D. Assists in managing materials and supplies.
E. Has the leadership capability and demeanor to effectively help manage and direct a crew of two to four people.
F. Meets or exceeds company production standards for lawn maintenance.
G. Assists in keeping jobs on schedule and on budget.
H. Assists in ensuring that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
I. Assists in ensuring all workers’ compensation insurance claims are properly documented and reported immediately.
J. Assists in ensuring all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.
K. Looks for extras and communicates them to Account Manager.
M. Assists in ensuring that company production standards are met.
N. Maintains a clean crew truck at all times.
O. Assists in filling out and processing all necessary job paperwork, purchase orders and time sheets, etc.
P. Assists in interacting with clients in a professional and competent manner.
Q. Assists in training crew as a team and maintaining a high level of morale.
R. Assists in ensuring that job cost reports are properly analyze over/under’s for each job with Account Manager.
S. Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures.
T. Able to work with minimal supervision from Account Manager but knows when to ask for assistance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
