Department: Operations – Consolidated Forensics Laboratory (CFL)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 24 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services. Spectrum is currently seeking an experienced Floor Maintenance Technician who will have the primary responsibility of maintaining the condition and appearance of high traffic floor areas in our Consolidated Forensics Laboratory (CFL) location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be available to work standard shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
- Follows and completes the facility’s daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
- Utilizes commercial floor maintenance equipment to perform floor care duties.
- Cleans assigned carpeted areas using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Buff, wax and polish floors as needed to maintain condition and environment.
- Wet mops washable floors in accordance with building schedule including break rooms, bathrooms, offices, lobby and hallways.
- Sweeps and clears entrance spaces, daily.
- Dusts, washes and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in schedule.
- Performs other cleaning duties as specified in schedule.
- Reports the following to the CSM:
- Presence of animals, vermin or insects
- Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance
- Water leaks and other maintenance needs
- All other health and safety hazards noticed
- Participates in environmental safety activities, as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 3 years experience in the custodial field.
- Applicable knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting methods.
- Floor Maintenance experience including buffering, stripping and waxing with proper equipment maintenance required.
- MS Office Suite (Outlook/email) basic experience.
- Must be able to comply with background check, including fingerprints.
- Successful experience working as an effective member of a team.
- Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff & clients.
