Compensation: $19.00 per hour
Hours:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Patient Support Clinic Front Desk Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, responsible for greeting patients, updating records, and coordinating patient flow based on a predetermined appointment schedule. This role is essential to ensuring efficient operations and quality care in a stigma-free, nonjudgmental environment. The receptionist will collaborate with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Medical Assistants, the Call Center, and the Billing Department to support comprehensive care.

What You’ll Do:
- Greet, check in, and check out patients and visitors professionally, courteously, and promptly, upholding Spectrum’s standards of excellence and respect.
- Verify insurance plans, ensure insurance cards are on file, and update information as needed.
- Confirm patient demographics, including the correct spelling of names and legal names per insurance records.
- Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Schedule new and established patient appointments for all providers.
- Assist in patient workflow for lab tests and coordinate with the receptionist in the Administration building.
- Attend daily huddles and reference the daily schedule to identify assigned MA/RN to providers. Provide clinic updates to the Patient Support Call Center.
- Responsible for opening and closing the office.
- Maintain a neat and orderly reception area.
- Ensure iPads used for registration are charged, sanitized, and accounted for daily.
- Stock lab tables with testing supplies and ensure cleanliness in the clinical support area.
- Maintain an adequate supply of medical forms (e.g., release of information, annual wellness visit, consent forms).
- Manage lab kits prepared by the clinical support team and medication samples from pharmaceutical representatives.
- Serve as a point of contact for the Call Center when clinical team members are unavailable.
- Participate in emergency medical routines as needed, including summoning Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
- Follow and help improve clinic policies and procedures; report any necessary updates.
- Handle and balance the daily cash till.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Patient Support Administrator.
What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in a customer service-focused healthcare setting
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a patient-facing role
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) preferred
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR); experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) preferred
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
