JOB PURPOSE:
The Process Technician is responsible for all the molding process, production equipment and manufacturing process set up and controls while production jobs are being run. This position is also responsible for maintaining prescribed production levels, prescribed quality levels and establishing the necessary process controls to manufacture acceptable products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Installs production jobs per the production schedule.
- Sets up mold and ancillary equipment as required per the set up sheet.
- Performs routine maintenance on molds.
- Documents all production processes.
- Maintains production equipment to prescribed quality levels.
- Monitors production process to ensure that all production being produced meets Quality standards.
- Makes proper adjustments to molding process to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensures that all production personnel are aware of the quality standards for each job.
- Continuous Improvement on all aspects of the manufacturing area.
- Works on finding new and better solutions to our process concerns, this can include the implementation of new auxiliary equipment.
- Works closely with the Process Engineer and Quality Engineer while production jobs are running during new and existing tool validations.
- Continually monitors scrap rate, cycle time, and efficiencies.
- Ensures that all safety procedures are followed.
- Ensures that all equipment safeties are not altered or defeated.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5-7 years of injection molding processing experience required
- Basic computer skills required
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate clearly
- Has been trained on the fundamentals of Scientific Molding which includes gate freeze, viscosity curve, short shot studies, pressure drops and performing DOE’s.
- Has the general understanding and knowledge of pressure transducers, de-coupled molding and the interactions with injection molding machines.
- Has the capabilities and knowledge to set-up and document process alarm settings.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
