SUMMARY
The Food Inspector measures and analyzes the safety and quality of our product. Our Food Inspector is the first line of defense against adulterated products. They are responsible for much of the day-to-day in-plant inspection of products from slaughter to shipping. This includes the safe running order of processing equipment used throughout the process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Inspect and accept / reject product based on food safety requirements, as well as customer, regulatory, industry standards, and internal requirements
- Update raw materials inventory with results of receiving inspections
- Ensure food safety, security, and sanitation systems are maintained in accordance with cGMP, cGWP, HACCP, and other guidelines – conduct periodic inspections of facilities, equipment, practices, etc.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports directly to the Food Safety Quality Assurance Team Leader. Works in conjunction with the organization's processing, storage, and logistics staff to conduct inspections.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people at all levels are essential. Strong math and organizational skills are a must, as is attention to detail.
- Candidate will need to gain food safety inspection certification within six months of assignment date.

- The employee is subject to a production environment for approximately 75 percent of the work time. (wet environment with temperatures < 45 degrees & Hot temperatures >85 degrees)
- High noise levels from operating machines.
- Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
- Skin exposure to animal fat, grease, and chemicals.

The pay range for this role is:
23 - 25 USD per hour(Mount Morris, IL)
