OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled Finance and Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting functions while driving strategic financial planning. This role is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring accurate records and data-driven decision-making. By integrating operational accounting with strategic insights, this position plays a vital role in optimizing financial performance and supporting the company’s growth objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow).
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison for external audits, coordinating all audit preparations and responses.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger management.
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals to ensure accuracy and proper classification.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, optimizing AP/AR processes to enhance efficiency.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial plans and timelines.
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts, analyzing key drivers such as sales, costs, and overhead to project performance.
- Conduct variance analysis, comparing actual results to budgets/forecasts to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with the CFO to perform scenario planning, ROI analysis, and cost-benefit evaluations for major business initiatives.
- Identify and recommend cost-saving measures, margin improvements, and revenue-enhancing strategies based on financial insights.
- Prepare and present management reports and dashboards to support executive decision-making.
- Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline accounting and FP&A workflows, including ERP system improvements and automation tools.
- Ensure best practices in financial data management, leveraging available technology for efficiency.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial processes, fostering continuous improvement.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, providing training, performance feedback, and career development opportunities.
- Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and analytical thinking.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, R&D, and other departments to ensure financial alignment with broader business goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong expertise in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ideally within a manufacturing or product-focused environment.
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills; experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Proven ability to drive process improvements and leverage automation for efficiency gains.
- Spanish proficiency preferred.
Salary : $120,000 - $125,000
