SUMMARY
The Mechanical Engineer position requires experience in machine design and engineering analysis to work in a team environment in the design and manufacture of heavy industrial equipment. The position also requires knowledge of general machine operation, manufacturability of materials and designs, and the ability to design for Assembly and Manufacture. The successful candidate will be technically oriented with strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. The position requires the following knowledge, skills and abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform engineering design calculation and analysis of mechanical systems consistent with industry-recognized code and customer requirements
- Study customer applications, specifications, and constraints to develop effective and economical engineered solutions
- Lead the engineering design process and work with Sales on new product developments
- Design parts, weldments, and arrangements using 2D/3D modeling software
- Prepare and validate detailed manufacturing (Fabrication and Machining) drawings
- Author, verify and publish Maintenance and troubleshooting manuals
- Serve as liaison to support Project Management, Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing activity throughout project execution
- Minimal travel to customer locations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in machine and tooling design, stress and deflection calculations, material selection, purchased component sizing, drawing, detailing, and Bills of Material
- Experience in the engineering and application of product groups
- Working knowledge of welding and machining processes, Geometric Tolerancing, Weld Sizing and Fits/Finishes
- Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis
- Ability to understand hydraulic controls and schematics
- Ability to understand electrical machine controls and control schemes
- Troubleshooting experience in shop testing, site commissioning and start-up
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Prior use of 2D/3D modeling software packages
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- 5 Years applicable work experience
Salary : $70,000 - $77,000
