Summary
Reporting to the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), the Pharmacist will play a key role in supporting the growth and efficiency of our pharmacy department. This position requires a high level of ethical judgment, clinical expertise, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will excel at building strong relationships with clients and colleagues while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include processing prescriptions, maintaining accurate medication records, verifying prescriptions for accuracy, and providing patient counseling. Additionally, this role requires expertise in identifying drug-drug, drug-food, and drug-ingredient interactions, with a solid understanding of both retail and compounding pharmacy regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the compounding, preparation, and dispensing of medications in compliance with state regulations and company policies.
- Manage the prescription process, including patient consultations, allergy screenings, contraindication assessments, and physician coordination.
- Ensure the accuracy, appropriateness, and safety of all dispensed medications.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
- Train, mentor, and supervise pharmacy technicians.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients and healthcare providers.
- Provide guidance to patients, physicians, and nurses regarding medication use and therapy details.
- Maintain and monitor medication inventory, ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Operate and calibrate specialized compounding equipment with accurate documentation.
- Follow all safety and quality control protocols for medication preparation.
- Track and document environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, for compliance.
- Manage and oversee licensing requirements, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations, best practices, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Collaborate with management to address employee relations and resolve workplace concerns.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted pharmacist license (multi-state licensure preferred).
- PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and pharmacy-related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High ethical standards and commitment to regulatory compliance.
- Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
- Successful completion of a background check.
COMPENSATION: $50-$57/hr.
