Position Summary :
As the Employment Specialist 1, you will support our mission through five key activities :
- Forming Relationships : Connecting with the individuals we support by building strong relationships with each other and assisting them to form relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
- Employment Goal Implementation - Work with individuals on activities that pertain to employment goals, with a focus on obtaining employment. Be aware of and actively working on employment goals throughout the year.
- Pre-Employment Supports - Use discovery tools to encourage and assist individuals in planning and participating in meaningful activities that support identifying skills, abilities and interests. Note : This work must be completed under the supervision of a certified CESP staff, not alone, until staff has achieved a CESP certification themselves.
- Employment Supports - Job Coaching individuals by providing on-site or off-site job support for individuals in community placements.
- Wrap-Around Supports - Provide personal care and support to aid individuals as needed during meals and bathroom breaks. Facilitate transportation as needed to help the individual live their best life.
