Spectrum Vision Center is seeking a dynamic and experienced Optical Manager to lead our optical team in delivering exceptional patient care and driving sales of eyewear and contact lenses. This role requires a strong leader who can train, develop, and motivate a team to enhance the patient experience while maintaining high productivity.
Key Responsibilities:Sales & Patient Experience
- Drive sales of eyeglasses, contact lenses, and optical accessories by providing expert guidance on lens materials, coatings, and frame selection.
- Ensure patients receive personalized recommendations that meet their vision and lifestyle needs.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by fostering a patient-first approach.
Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, train, and develop a knowledgeable optical team with strong sales and customer service skills.
- Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment that emphasizes continuous learning and professional growth.
- Conduct regular staff training on ophthalmic lenses, materials, upgrades, repairs, and proper dispensing techniques.
- Ensure staff is well-versed in company policies, industry trends, and best practices.
Operations & Productivity
- Oversee daily operations of the optical department to ensure efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor performance metrics, track sales goals, and implement strategies to improve productivity.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, stocking, and minimizing waste or shrinkage.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Human Resources & Staff Management
- Assist with scheduling, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution within the optical team.
- Promote a positive work culture through strong leadership, communication, and team-building initiatives.
- Address and resolve patient and staff concerns in a professional and effective manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in optical management or a leadership role in an optical setting.
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, materials, repairs, and dispensing techniques.
- Sales-driven mindset with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Basic understanding of performance tracking, KPI analysis, and business operations.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
