Spectrum Water Technology, a forward-thinking leader in the Wastewater Treatment industry is seeking a Site Waste Coordinator to join our team. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Site Waste Coordinator to join our team. Working from Port Sulfur, Louisiana, the successful candidate will assist in managing waste generated at the site; ensuring it is handled, documented, and disposed of safely and in compliance with all government regulations. Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor Waste Generation:
- Track types, amounts, and sources of waste generated at the site.
- Ensure waste is sorted and categorized correctly according to regulations.
2. Coordinate Waste Collection and Disposal:
- Arrange pickups with waste haulers and ensure timely disposal of waste.
- Verify that all waste disposal follows local, state, and federal regulations.
3. Manage Waste Documentation:
- Complete and maintain records for waste disposal, tracking volume and type.
- Compile data for internal reports and regulatory compliance audits.
4. Ensure Safety Compliance:
- Conduct inspections to ensure waste handling areas are safe and compliant.
- Report any potential hazards or non-compliant practices to site management.
5. Support Hazardous Waste Handling:
- Learn and follow protocols for managing hazardous waste safely.
- Work with certified professionals to label, store, and prepare hazardous waste for disposal.
6. Inventory Waste Disposal Supplies:
- Monitor and replenish waste containers, labels, and PPE as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure availability of disposal resources.
7. Report Waste Management Metrics:
- Track and report site’s waste metrics, including recycling, landfill, and hazardous waste.
- Prepare data for environmental compliance reports or sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education or certifications in environmental science or waste management is a plus.
- Must have completed DOT, EPA, RCRA, and HAZWOPER 40-hour training.
- Previous background in waste management is required.
- Ability to understand and comply with waste management regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members.
