Custom Woodworker/ Fabricator/ Builder (Commercial)
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- 5 years minimum commercial experience
- Must have an eye for quality and accuracy
- Able to take direction and instruction from supervisor
- Solid transportation and prompt
- Working knowledge of hand tools and power tools
- Excellent communicator, Self-starter
- Positive Team Player, who takes ownership of role
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality custom woodworking products
- Reception Desks, Benches/ Banquet Seating, Wall Panel Systems, Die Wall, Displays, Tables, etc.
- Ability to read Architectural/Shop drawings
- Must be mechanically adept with a comprehensive understanding of common industry machinery, equipment, and tooling including Shapers and CNC machining centers is a plus
- Ability to juggle a diverse and variable workload
- Skills and experience must include working from shop drawings on complex layout and fabrication
- Must be experienced across a broad range of millwork fabrication
- Able to coordinate well with others and be able to supervise less skilled workers as needed
- Keen understanding of solid lumber, laminates, veneers, glass/ acrylics/ plastics, solid surface materials
- Solid knowledge of different construction/assembly methods is required
- Account for time and material using the company’s computer system
- Maintain a clean work area
- Observing and understanding of budgeted labor hours assigned to work orders
- Provides quality checks of personal tasks as well as quality checks of all component parts
