Our client, a conservative-leaning non-profit is looking to hire a CFO. This person will report directly to and support the President, ensuring strong financial management and fiscal integrity. This role requires expertise in accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and financial analysis, with a preference for candidates experienced in nonprofit financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial planning and reporting, supporting the President with strategic financial decisions.
- Manage and analyze the organization’s $10M annual budget, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow projections.
- Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process.
- Analyze budget performance against actual results and provide insights.
- Supervise outsourced controller and payroll functions.
- Review and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Collaborate with the investment team in managing Funds.
- Coordinate the annual audit and preparation of Form 990
- Present financial updates and reports to the Board of Directors.
- Oversee accounting systems, including QuickBooks and Bill.com.
Qualifications:
- 15 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Strong background in nonprofit financial management preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Bill.com.
- Experience managing audits and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data for strategic decision-making.
- Ability to work in-office at least four days per week in Arlington, VA.
- Alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
Compensation & Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule: full-time (40 hours per week) or part-time (24-30 hours per week).
