Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of income tax provision, corporate tax compliance, and tax accounting under ASC 740. The ideal candidate has deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance and optimize the company’s tax position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and review of the quarterly and annual income tax provision under ASC 740, including tax footnotes and related disclosures.
- Manage all aspects of federal, state, and local tax compliance, including returns, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Oversee tax accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Maintain and analyze deferred tax assets/liabilities, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances.
- Support external audits by preparing schedules and responding to inquiries from auditors and tax authorities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., FP&A, Legal, Accounting) on tax planning strategies and business initiatives.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations, and assess their impact on the company.
- Assist in identifying and implementing tax process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Manage and mentor junior team members; foster a culture of learning and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred.
- 7 years of progressive tax experience, including provision and compliance work in a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department.
- Strong expertise in ASC 740 and corporate income tax regulations.
- Experience with tax software (e.g., OneSource, Corptax, Alteryx) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience with international tax compliance and transfer pricing.
- Familiarity with M&A tax considerations and due diligence processes.
- Experience in a public company environment.
