Hours and Wages
- Exempt salary position
- Starting wage: $75,000-$85,000 per year, based on relevant years of experience, education, certifications, and comparison to other employees already in this role
- Network Management:
- Oversee and maintain the network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points across multiple sites
- Manage undocumented or poorly documented systems, including phone systems and ISPs, by gathering information, troubleshooting, and creating proper documentation
- Implement and enforce network policies, security standards, and best practices
- Monitor network performance, identify issues, and provide timely solutions to ensure maximum uptime, performance, and trends
- Phone systems and ISP Management:
- Learn and manage existing phone systems, ensuring efficient communication across all sites
- Maintain relationships with ISPs, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and ensure redundancy and resilience across all locations
- Firewalls and security
- Configure, monitor, and manage firewalls to protect the network from internal and external threats
- Conduct periodic reviews and updates to firewall rules, ensuring security best practices are followed
- Procurement and Equipment Management:
- Assess the current hardware infrastructure and recommend procurement of network equipment as needed
- Source, purchase, and install new switches, routers, and other network equipment, managing the entire procurement process
- Manage and configure Pepwave wireless routers for optimal connectivity and performance
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create detailed network documentation for all sites, including phone systems, ISP configurations, and hardware setups
- Provide regular reports on network health, equipment status, and upcoming needs
- Some travel may be required
- Ability to manage on-call duties for network emergencies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- 3 years of proven experience as a Network Administrator preferred
- Strong understanding of network architecture, protocols, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience managing firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Ability to work with undocumented systems, reverse engineer configurations, and create thorough documentation
- Familiarity with Pepwave wireless routers is a plus
- Experience with managing ISP contracts and troubleshooting connectivity issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple sites
- Ability to implement security best practices and maintain network integrity
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments and external vendors
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
- Certificate in CCNA, Network , or equivalent experience preferred
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and answering the phone
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
