Job Summary
The Data Entry department will accurately input data into a billing system for accounts receivable purposes and assist customers in our walk-in counter.
Hours and Wages
- Monday-Friday, 6:30AM-3:30PM
- $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and open walk-in counter daily
- Greet and assist customers with parcels for shipment
- Utilize hand-held pad to enter packages for pick up or inbound scans
- Accurately enter package information into billing system using the 10-key portion of a keyboard as well as a desk top scanner
- Interact with customers via telephone and email regarding questions concerning their daily shipping paperwork
- Balance and count cash drawer daily
- Prepare cash count for Night Office daily
- Aid the Manifest and Supplies departments as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Work requires basic computer knowledge and customer service skills
Education and Experience
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Clerical or administrative experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and answering the phone
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
