The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.
Job Summary
The Operations and LTL Assistant Manager will oversee and lead drivers in their day-to-day activities to ensure timely, safe, and efficient operations.
Hours and Wages
- Exempt salary position
- Starting wage is $60,000 - $75,000, based on relevant years of experience, education, certifications, and comparison to other employees already in this role
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing and ensuring all day-to-day branch operations are completedTrack and manage daily department reportsEnforce safety, DOT, and company policiesAnalyze route performance to ensure it is being performed properly and freight is distributed appropriatelyIdentify and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and customer serviceParticipate in organizing and leading weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignmentsConduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructiveHire, train, discipline, and onboard new staffSome travel may be requiredPerform other required duties as assignedSkills and Abilities
Ability to build, motivate, and lead a high performing teamExcellent management skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsThorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local and company safety policiesStrong organizational and project management skills, including meeting deadlines and achieving resultsEducation and Experience
At least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in Business Management, Logistics or Operations Management or related field preferredMay be required to obtain or hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license1 years of experience in the transportation industry and leadership preferredPhysical Requirements
Ability to pass a DOT physical examAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefits
