Job Summary
The Warehouse / CDL Assistant Manager will assist in the direction and coordination of night warehouse and LTL operations.
Hours and Wages
- Exempt salary position
- Starting wage : $60,000 - $75,000 based on relevant years of experience, education, certifications, and comparison to other employees already in this role
Duties and Responsibilities
Complete routes for employees who are absentPrepare, manage, and track department reportsEnforce safety, DOT, and company policiesRecommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, work methods, and customer serviceMonitor warehouse staff, attendance, and operation productivityEnsure trailer cuts are made for timely delivery to branchesAssist the Warehouse Manager and other management to resolve employee issues and disciplineParticipate in weekly meetings and communicate goals and assignmentsConduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructiveHire, train, discipline, and onboard new staffTravel may be requiredPerform other required duties as assignedSkills and Abilities
Ability to build, motivate, and lead a high performing teamExcellent management skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsThorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local and company safety policiesStrong organizational and project management skills, including meeting deadlines and achieving resultsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareEducation and Experience
At least 21 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in Business Management, Logistics or Operations Management or related field preferredMust hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license OR successfully complete Company paid CDL training program3 years of experience in the transportation industry and leadership preferredPhysical Requirements
Ability to pass a DOT physical examAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefits
