Job description
Linden Oaks, formerly Speech and Language Development Center, is a non-profit school and therapy center serving children and young adults, ages 12 months through 40 years of age. Established in 1955, Linden Oaks has been a renowned leader in special education and disability services, supporting Southern California.
Overall Purpose: Under the direction of the VP of Admission and Programs, the Education Services Coordinator, will plan, organize, and manage the activities and operations of Linden Oaks’s education services including education services scheduling; compliance; direct, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Ensures compliance with all federal and/or state regulations pertaining to IEPs, students, or individuals with disabilities. This position operates as a mid-management level of responsibility requiring a high degree of organizational planning and management skills.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Teacher Schedule Streamlining so providers have access to schedule/reschedule services in real time
· Data input/collection in regard to State Testing
· Student Acquisition
· Maintain Powerschool Database
· Oversee the management of all referrals, tours, etc. Entered into Monday.com
· Oversee Daily Scheduling/work of Admin Assistants in Education Services Department
· Serving as the main contact for office supplies, bills and shipping
· Giving special projects and tasks to employees and assessing their performance
· Addressing customer questions and requests via phone or email correspondence
· Ensuring adherence to company policies by all team members
· Greeting visitors upon arrival and performing additional clerical functions as needed
· Implement and uphold standards of practice in alignment with practices, procedures and policies; communicate with education staff of upcoming changes (e.g., regulatory updates, training) to assure standard of safety and compliance are known and met.
Other Duties:
· Other duties, as assigned, to support Linden Oaks students, clients, staff, and mission.
Relationships/Contacts:
· Able to interact with all levels of employees and other departments outside the Education Services Program to resolve issues and improve efficiencies.
Managerial and Leadership Skills:
· Oversee the Educational Services Administrative Assistants daily duties and scheduled work. These individuals must be able to build teamwork among staff and faculty, maintain multiple schedules, and more.
Knowledge of IEPs:

Additional Dimensions:
· Computer Proficiency- These individuals spend a lot of time online, reading, researching, and filing documents, so advanced computer proficiency is a fundamental requirement.
· Familiarity with Regulations- Every state and location has its own unique set of regulations that apply to special education. Individuals in the special education coordinator role must have a solid understanding of the rules in their state.
· Communication- Communication is vital to the role. Candidates must be good listeners to determine what a student needs to thrive, and they must also be able to discuss options with families and faculty in a respectful way.
· Organization- Exceptional organization (including time management) is a requirement.

This position is classified as exempt meaning more than 50% of the employee’s time is spent performing exempt job duties consistent with this job description. If the employee finds the actual job duties change from those described herein so the employee is not performing exempt duties more than 50% of the time, the employee must immediately inform management.
Qualification Requirements:
· High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
· 2 or more years working in special education required.
· Knowledge of federal, state and compliance rules and regulations.
· Knowledge of IEPs required.

Physical Demands: Standing 30%, sitting 70%, walking 30%, lifting 30%, computer use 80%, bending 20%, stooping 20%, lifting up to 30lbs, ability to implement emergency training (CPR, etc.) at all times, ability to implement emergency procedures (fire, earthquake, active shooting, etc.) at all times.
Work Environment: Work in front office area that is visible and accessible to the public and other employees. Volume of noise in office varies throughout the day dependent on number of visitors/parents.
