Speech Connections is actively looking to add a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our stellar Clinical Team! We have established long-term relationships with families and communities where you will be able to help shape and generalize the skills needed for clients to achieve functional independence in the most natural settings. The work is as interesting and challenging as it is rewarding. We are committed to investing in professional development, clinical support, and regular on-site supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the sensory, motor, and functional needs of children on the autism spectrum.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based occupational therapy techniques and strategies.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including ABA therapists, speech-language pathologists, and behavior analysts, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for each child.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to children, targeting areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and activities of daily living.
- Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to maximize outcomes.
- Educate and train parents, caregivers, and other team members on strategies to support the child's occupational therapy goals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in occupational therapy, particularly as they relate to working with children on the autism spectrum.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, preferably in an ABA setting.
- Strong knowledge of sensory integration theory and practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team.
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children with autism.
