Job Summary
The Intervention Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges. Duties
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessments and client needs.
- Conduct regular data collection to monitor progress and effectiveness of interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, educators, and healthcare professionals, to coordinate care.
- Provide behavior management support, utilizing evidence-based strategies to address challenging behaviors.
- Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support their loved ones effectively.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in the field.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or behavioral health issues.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and data collection methods.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding when working with children and individuals with special needs.
- Certification or training in relevant areas such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a plus.
