Speech Innovations is a multi-disciplinary team of pediatric Speech and Occupational Therapists, seeking a Speech Language Pathology Assistant whose willing to work collaboratively to provide speech & language therapy services to children with a variety of communication difficulties.
We're looking for team players who are enthusiastic about teaching, communicating, facilitating the education of parents, and working with children. Therapy services are provided 1:1 and we also offer families small group settings focusing on specific skills and development.
Position Available is for FULL TIME Monday-Thursday, FULL TIME Monday - Friday, PART-TIME or AFTER SCHOOL hours approximately 3:00- 6:00pm

Bachelor's Degree from an ASHA accredited university
****Speech Pathology Assistants are also encouraged to apply with minimum 1 year pediatric working experience
- Appropriate FL licensure from the DOH (SLPA)
- After school hour availability required
- Ability to treat a variety of speech, language, literacy, and pragmatic disorders
- Willing to work collaboratively with other professionals/therapists
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Develop strong relationships with families
- Experience working with special needs children
- Desire to teach families and caretakers home/school based strategies for carryover
- Refer or consult with other professionals if necessary.
- Participate in meetings with parents, teachers, and other professionals to discuss patient's progress.
Responsibilities
- Select and adapt the appropriate per case speech therapy treatment model, method and approach to direct the process of interventions
- Apply interventions to maximize performance and carryover of shot term goals
- Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
- Assess client’s home and other environmental needs
- Guide and educate family members and caregivers
- Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
- Collect data and document processes followed
- Regularly follow-up client
Skills
- Proven working experience as speech pathologist
- Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of speech pathology
- Familiarity with evaluation tools
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
- Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
- Professional behaviour
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Valid license to practice speech therapy
- Bachelor's degree in speech pathology with at least 1 year pediatric experience
