What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Infant/Toddler Teacher position at Speech Therapy and Education Professionals?
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Infant-Toddler Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher in providing a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment for young children. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, ensure the well-being of infants and toddlers, and foster their early learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Child Supervision & Care
Assist in the daily care of infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and maintaining hygiene.
Engage with children in age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following proper supervision guidelines.
Curriculum & Developmental Support
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities that align with early childhood education standards.
Encourage language development, sensory exploration, and motor skills through interactive play.
Assist in monitoring and documenting each child‘s growth, behavior, and developmental milestones.
Classroom & Facility Maintenance
Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment.
Sanitize toys, equipment, and play areas regularly to ensure a safe space for children.
Assist in setting up and cleaning up classroom activities.
Communication & Collaboration
Work closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure consistency in care and instruction.
Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding their child’s progress and daily activities.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred).
Previous experience working with infants and toddlers in a childcare or educational setting.
Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform tasks related to infant/toddler care.
Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Ability to pass a background check and meet state childcare licensing requirements.
