Summary: Supports the building services team to prepare and maintain the Speed Art Museum and its other properties for scheduled events and regular business hours. This will include but is not limited to, manual labor and custodial cleaning. The Associate will give constant attention to the care and safety of all Speed Art Museum's properties and can work in a team setting.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Part-time, 20-24 hours per week. Overtime eligible.

Duties And Responsibilities
- Removes refuse and debris from the Speed Art Museum's properties.
- Cleans and maintains all the Speed Art Museum properties and their walkways including but not limited to removing snow, ice, and construction debris.
- Cleans, maintains, retrieves, and takes supplies, materials, and equipment to storage, as directed by the supervisor.
- Performs related work as required and stores all equipment in its designated area once work is complete or when the shift ends.
- Executes the physical set-up/breakdown for all routine Museum meetings and events as directed by the supervisor. Reports additional requests to supervisor on time.
- Monitors and maintains trash receptacles. Monitors, cleans, and re-stocks restrooms.
- Maintains floors, carpets, glass, and stainless steel as scheduled and as directed by supervisor.
- Maintains cleaning equipment, supplies, and supply closets within department guidelines.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent training and experience.
- Six months’ experience in custodial work.
- Experienced in the safe operation of cleaning equipment.
- Skill in performing custodial duties with knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Understand and work within environmental standards.
- Use judgment and discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
- Function independently and be flexible for interruptions and changing priorities.
- Using floor cleaning machines, ladders, and lifts is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure teamwork and positive client/co-worker relations.
- Be able to take directions and follow instructions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

- Use of radio and computer throughout the workday.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position during shift.
- Ability to intermittently access equipment, tools, and supplies throughout the workday.

- Move equipment, supplies, etc., up to fifty (50) pounds throughout the workday.
- This role requires inspection of sites to detect safety concerns.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
