Honolulu Dispatch Supervisor

Job Overview:

The Honolulu Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing last-mile delivery operations, ensuring efficient dispatching, and managing daily driver assignments. This role also includes coordinating airline import shipment pickups, ensuring timely retrieval from the airport, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatch & Delivery Operations:

• Oversee daily dispatch operations, ensuring on-time deliveries and high service levels.
• Assign routes to drivers, optimizing efficiency while meeting customer expectations.
• Monitor real-time tracking and resolve delivery exceptions as they arise.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, driver performance, and operational KPIs.
• Enforce compliance with company policies, including safety, package handling, and customer service.

Airline Import Shipment Pickups:

• Coordinate and schedule pickups for airline import shipments from designated airport cargo facilities.
• Ensure proper documentation (e.g., airway bills, import clearances) is prepared and submitted before pickup.
• Communicate with airline ground handlers to ensure smooth handovers.
• Verify shipment conditions upon pickup and escalate any discrepancies (damage, missing parcels, etc.).
• Ensure timely transfer of shipments to the dispatch facility for sorting and last-mile delivery.

Fleet & Staff Management:

• Supervise and support dispatch staff and drivers, ensuring proper training and adherence to procedures.
• Conduct daily check-ins with drivers to address any issues related to delivery routes or shipment pickups.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to streamline the handover of shipments for dispatch.
• Assist in hiring, training, and evaluating dispatch personnel.

Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure all drivers comply with DOT regulations, airport security procedures, and TSA cargo screening requirements.
• Maintain proper records of shipment pickups and coordinate with regulatory bodies when necessary.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols for handling import shipments and dispatch operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 3 years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation management.
• Experience handling airline import shipments and working with airport cargo operations is a plus.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage drivers and dispatch teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle fast-paced logistics environments.
• Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
• Knowledge of TSA, DOT, and airport security regulations preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
