What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extrusion Operator position at Speed North America Inc.?
Speed Group is known by its customers for its service and product quality, quality and production monitoring in each factory are identical, and local R&D departments and sales teams are present in each region. SPEED Group’s trimmer lines are the global benchmark for quality.
Role Objective:
The Extrusion Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating to produce high-quality products to meet SPEED's quality, safety, and production standards
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operate on several extrusion lines and control the production operations with clear communication.
- Adhere to quality, production, safety, and housekeeping standards.
Essential Functions:
- Start up and shut down extrusion lines correctly.
- Conduct frequent quality checks and sign off on Quality Tags.
- Use appropriate materials and resins, ensuring correct blends and colors.
- Maintain cleanliness of the extrusion area, including equipment and floors.
- Record weights of spools and scrap; ensure all spools are marked.
- Assist team members and communicate effectively about production needs and issues.
Physical Demands:
- Mechanical knowledge of machinery (a plus)
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Able to lift to 60 lbs frequently.
- Ability to perform tasks quickly.
Work Environment:
- Shift work (10PM/6AM) Monday/ Friday
- Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work in a factory setting with potential exposure to heat during summer only.
Pay: from $19/hour ($2 shift premium 2nd and 3rd shift)
