We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest.Job SummaryThe CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.Hours and Wages
- Monday-Friday, 10 : 30PM start - completion of route
- 10-15 hours of overtime may be expected each week
- Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
- 23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
- 2.00 shift premium for start times between 5 : 00pm - 4 : 59amDuties and Responsibilities
- Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
- Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
- Drive between terminals to transport parcels
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
- Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
- Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as neededSkills and Abilities
- Ability to operate a manual transmission
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles / triples endorsement
- Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently and make quick decisionsEducation and Experience
- At least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standardsPhysical Requirements
- Ability to pass a DOT physical
- Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefits
