ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Hospitality Events Manager will play a central role in the success of Sonoma Raceway events and programs. We are looking for an enthusiastic hospitality management professional with a passion for delivering memorable events, a bias for problem solving and exceptional client service. The Hospitality Events Manager will work in conjunction with Sonoma Raceway’s General Manager and VP of Sales to develop marketing strategies, achieve revenue goals, and maintain the highest level of operational excellence. This position will primarily be responsible for the direction and management of event functions at the Turn 11 Hospitality Center, with additional strategic and operational influence across other hospitality areas of the facility.
The candidate selected for this position will have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and a strong attention to detail and discretion.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
Deliver and exceed the expectations of a sophisticated consumer.Bring a strong understanding of the style, design and nuance of luxury that is required to delight our customers; able to develop innovative and creative décor for a wide scope of functions.Build effective relationships with community influencers, high-end DMCs, tourism organizations, and corporate event planners; evaluate and initiate opportunities to develop new sources of business.Collaborate closely and be a champion internally with our exclusive catering partner, Levy Restaurants.Manage all aspects of booking groups, meetings, and catering functions; this includes concepting unique Sonoma Raceway experiences for high-end clients and prospects, including site tours and tastings, proposals and program recommendations, pricing, contracts, detailing banquet event orders, floorplans and layouts, capacities, event furnishings, vendor communication, creation of upsell opportunities, and execution on the day of the event.Serve as the onsite contact for all Turn 11 events, personally greeting attendees, overseeing program transitions and departures, ensuring client satisfaction throughout, and coordinating with other departments to ensure flawless execution.Manage outside vendors and agencies as needed for event execution, including requesting / comparing bids, coordinating invoices and billings, and reporting final budgets.Maintain deep knowledge of the property features, including racing activities and amenities, in order to represent the facility with passion.Knowledge of the local scene to provide frequent hotel, outside activity, and vendor recommendations.Work as an active member of the management team, creating positive relationships and maintaining active involvement with all departments. Uphold the standards of a professionally operated department that caters to client needs.Provide quick and timely responses and immediate and concise communication to appropriate internal departments, third-party vendors, and guests.Create & deploy client satisfaction measurement systems and socialize feedback for improvement opportunities.Ensure accurate input of contracts & deliverables in Salesforce CRM.Collaborate with finance on billing, COIs, damage recuperation, and capex.Management and onboarding of part-time and seasonal activation support, hospitality employees, security, cleaning, and facility volunteers.Perform other duties as requested by the General Manager, Director of Sales, and corporate office.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Previous experience in luxury environments in a comparable position.Excellent interpersonal, time management, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced, team-focused environment with tight deadlines.A curious mind and a strong multi-tasker who finds opportunities and creates solutions.Appreciation for high standards, attention to detail and discretion in customer service.Ability to exercise sound business judgment, generating effective solutions quickly and / or raising issues to senior management as necessary.Experience in managing and working within a detailed budget.Able to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, Sports Administration, Marketing or Communications preferred.PAY RATE : $75,000-$85,000
