What are the responsibilities and job description for the Car Wash Manager position at Speedy Clean Car Wash?
Speedy Clean is a growing chain of car wash locations in Wisconsin and Michigan.
We are hiring a General Manager for our Iron Mountain site. The manager will be responsible for commercial accounts, site operation, customer satisfaction, and a staff of 3 attendants.
Depending on performance, additional management opportunities may be available as time progresses.
The manager will be responsible for overall site operation but also either the weekday morning shift (8 AM - 1 PM) or the afternoon shift (1:00 PM – 6:00 PM), Monday thru Friday. Additional hours may occasionally be required in a supervisory capacity on other shifts.
Attendants and manager are responsible for the following at the wash:
- Opening and closing the wash according to checklists
- Cleaning wash equipment as required
- Directing cars safely onto the conveyor
- Providing safety instructions to customers
- Assisting customers with memberships and payments
- Displaying a positive attitude and providing a superior customer experience
- Maintaining a professional appearance
Additional management duties are:
- Engage in efforts to boost wash sales and establish membership base
- Establish commercial fleet accounts within the geographic area
- Social media engagement and marketing
- Retain customers and convert to monthly memberships when appropriate
- Handle customer complaints and concerns via telephone and email
- Ensure cleanliness of the site is maintained
- Ensure all equipment is working and arrange for maintenance as required
- Hire and Train new wash attendants
- Supervise team performance
- Preparing and holding weekly status meetings
Specific general manager responsibilities are:
- Manages Schedule
- Makes deposits and completes deposit paperwork 2-3 times/month
- Orders chemicals
- Ensure chemicals are changed when necessary
- Orders supplies from management as required
- Sets standards for attire, presentation, and behavior at wash
- Sets standards for employee sales technique in consultation with management
- Sets monthly sales goals and communicates to employees
- Holds weekly all-hands meetings
- Monitors wash performance and condition and engages with maintenance staff
- Weekly or Monthly meetings with management
Job requirements:
- 3 years of retail experience, including as manager or assistant manager
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone, and via email
- Ability to recognize areas of improvement and make changes using good judgment
- Solid writing and grammar skills
- Professional, punctual, reliable and neat
- Organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Trustworthy and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers, clients and the general public
- Computer proficient. Mechanical competency is a plus.
- High School Diploma required, Associates in Business preferred
Compensation: $20/hr
