What are the responsibilities and job description for the Convenience Store Assistant Manager position at Speedys LLC?
SUMMARY:
Speedy's Gas & Convenience Assistant Store Manager is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in the daily retail operations of the storefront. Assistant Store Manager is expected to excel in management and organizational tasks that support the efficiency of the store's operation and promote a great shopping experience for Speedy's patrons.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the general training, supervision, and scheduling of all team members
- Provide exemplary customer service to all Speedy's patrons and resolve complaints
- Review staff performance and offer constructive feedback on operational improvements
- Collaborate with Store Manager on setting and achieving store goals and projects
- Assist in purchasing of inventory based on current trends, market availability, and customer interest; check-in vendors upon arrival
- Observe competitor retail outlets (i.e. gas prices) within the market area; report any significant changes to Store Manager
- Display merchandise to maximize purchasing appeal
- Prepare shift audit reports, including inventory and cash audits
- Study newsletters and policy/procedure changes and serve as a knowledge resource to team members
- Ensure storefront is clean, organized, and welcoming to all patrons
- Must adhere to all city, county, state, and federal laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery product
Position Requirements:
- Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift any day of the week
- Must be able to work assigned shift without other team members present
- Must be able to work entire assigned shift on feed; bending, stooping, and moving are requirements of the position
- Must adhere to company dress code and personal appearance guidelines
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Understands exposure to gas fumes and cleaning products is a condition of the position
