Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 15-20 years of experience in mechanical system design, with a strong focus on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
- Strong familiarity with state and federal building codes, energy standards, and industry best practices
- Demonstrated experience in leading project teams, managing deliverables, and ensuring on-time project execution
- Federal project experience (VA, DOD, or GSA) is highly desirable
- LEED or WELL certification is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Lead mechanical engineering design efforts for complex commercial and federal projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations
- Review and provide technical direction in designing in compliance with industry best practices
- Manage interdisciplinary coordination to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within broader project scopes
- Conduct technical reviews, quality assurance, and risk assessments to maintain high standards in project deliverables
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to define scope, budget, and performance expectations
- Oversee field investigations, site assessments, and construction inspections to validate system performance and design accuracy
- Stay ahead of industry trends, technologies, and regulations, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Ability to travel up to 20% for site visits and inspections
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of desk work and occasional lifting (up to 15 lbs)
