Position Overview
Newport Classical (NC), a premier performing arts organization celebrating classical music, is seeking Production Crew members to support our iconic summer Music Festival. The stage crew is responsible for the efficient execution of all performance production and logistics, which in turn ensures that our audiences have safe and pleasant experiences while attending our concerts. The Festival includes 29 performances held at 11 unique venues located primarily in Newport with additional venues in Middletown & Bristol. As part of the production crew, this role assists with the setup of concert spaces, including staging, PA system, seating, and signage, ensuring everything is ready for the event.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Stage Manager, the Production Crew is responsible for :
- Daily stage setup and breakdown, including 4×8 platforms, stairs, etc.
- PA setup and breakdown.
- Moving boxes and equipment to and from venues.
- Placing chairs for audience seating in accordance with the seating chart specific to that concert and venue and breaking down seating after the concert.
- Assisting with piano moves.
- Driving of production vehicle(s) required.
