Role Description
This position presents a great opportunity for communications professionals to work at the heart of the film and entertainment industry. We are looking for a professional with a minimum of 2-5 years of experience at a public relations agency, film studio or distributor. Good writing, document and scheduling skills are a great asset to this communications position. Duties at media interviews, screenings, and events occur outside normal business hours. We offer a creative and supportive environment that provides experience in the development and implementation of world class strategic communications campaigns in film, television, public affairs, and climate action. We also attend and represent numerous film festivals and handle film awards campaigns that involve screenings and premieres in New York.
This position is in person in Brooklyn, New York, and events and interviews are generally located in the New York metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing screenings, press conferences, and high profile events.
- Distribute press releases.
- Schedule interviews and maintain media itineraries and calendar invitations for clients, film directors, and producers.
- Cover in person events, film premieres, festivals, press screenings, and media interviews.
- Update status reports, databases, RSVP lists, calendars, schedules, and other documents and generally support communications campaigns.
- Proofread press materials.
- Liaise with and serve as adjunct point of contact to select clients and talent.
- Media research and analysis.
- Other reasonable duties as directed.
