What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/Administrative Assistant position at Spence Counseling Center?
This FT position is Monday thru Friday with flexible hours including the following tasks and qualifications.
Client Intake Process – 50%
· Call client’s insurance to check benefits & eligibility.
· Data entry of client information into computer network.
· Data entry of billing information & credit card information.
· Ensuring client intake paperwork flow to therapists.
· Knowledgeable of insurance processes to answer client questions & concerns.
Administrative Support – 25%
· Interface with billing and IT companies to resolve system issues and staff issues.
· Interface with clients on their accounts and billing issues.
· Process client credit card transactions.
· Answer, refer, and transfer calls on multi-line telephone.
· Use of copier, fax machine, and scanner.
· Maintain integrity of waiting room and restrooms supplies & cleanliness.
Staff Administrative Support – 25%
· Interface with therapists and administrative staff to resolve issues.
· Run weekly reports for client accounts and billing issues.
· Maintain client handouts.
· Answer phones regarding client appointment with therapists.
· Clarify client accounts receivable issues.
Minimum Requirements
Education
· High School Diploma with some College preferred.
Experience
· Two years of clerical or administrative support required with data entry and medical experience preferred.
· Two years of customer service experience required.
Other Qualifications
· Be actively engaged and look for opportunities to use talents and skills; take initiative with projects and ownership of the process while achieving excellence.
· Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite.
· Use of photocopier, scanner, fax, multi-line phone system.
· Ability to speak and write professionally and follow oral and written directions.
· Ability to do simple math calculations to determine client insurance payments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
