Assistant Store Manager
Spence Hardware is a vibrant and growing Farm and Ranch Hardware Store dedicated to providing superior customer service and a wide variety of products. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Assistant Store Manager to lead our team and drive sales performance while delivering exceptional customer service.
About the Role:
As the Assistant Store Manager, you will be report to the Store Manager and assist with the overall success of the store, including sales, operations, customer experience, and team leadership. You will be a key driver of our brand and culture, ensuring a positive and productive environment for both employees and customers. Knowledge of the products we carry is strongly desired as you will be assisting customers and staff with problem solving through their needs. This position is a 50 hour/week, 5-day work week, requiring one weekend shift and availability until the store closes at 7pm. This is a Full-Time career position with potential for performance bonuses.
Responsibilities:
* Sales & Performance: Achieve and exceed sales targets, analyze sales data, develop strategies to improve performance, and manage inventory effectively.
* Customer Experience: Cultivate a customer-centric environment, resolve customer issues, and ensure exceptional service at all times. Implement and maintain customer service standards.
* Team Leadership: Train, coach, and motivate a high-performing team. Conduct performance reviews, address employee concerns, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Operations: Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, visual merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and loss prevention. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
* Visual Merchandising: Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards to attract customers and maximize sales.
* Loss Prevention: Implement and enforce loss prevention strategies to minimize shrink.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in a similar position (minimum 2 years).
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated ability to drive sales and achieve targets.
* Excellent customer service skills and a passion for providing exceptional customer experiences.
* Solid understanding of retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and loss prevention.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
* Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
