Spencer Cable Access is seeking a dynamic and experienced Station Manager to oversee all aspects of our public access television operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community media and a strong technical background in video production and streaming.
Key Responsibilities
Production and Post-Production
- Oversee all aspects of video production, from pre-production planning to post-production editing
- Utilize industry-standard software such as Adobe Premiere Pro to edit and produce high-quality videos
- Manage and maintain studio equipment, including cameras, microphones, and lighting
- Train and mentor volunteers and staff in video production techniques
Live Streaming
- Coordinate and execute live streams of town meetings, events, and other community programs
- Utilize streaming platforms such as Facebook Live and YouTube Live
- Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure smooth live broadcasts
Programming and Scheduling
- Develop and implement a diverse programming schedule that caters to the interests of the Spencer community
- Work with community members to produce original content
- Manage the station's content library and ensure proper archiving
Technical Support
- Provide technical support to volunteers and staff, including troubleshooting equipment issues and software problems
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and industry trends
Community Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, local organizations, and town officials
- Promote the station's services and encourage community participation
Administrative Duties
- Manage the station's budget and financial records
- Prepare reports and documentation as required
- Coordinate with town officials to ensure compliance with local regulations and policies
Qualifications
- Proficient in Tightrope products
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Premiere Pro
- WordPress experience a plus
- Real-world experience in media production and streaming (audio and video)
- Proficient in Facebook management and streaming
- Graphic design skills a plus
- Ability to create and manage a budget
- Tricaster real-world use
- Basic understanding of how town government works
- On-call availability on Monday and Tuesday nights for meeting support
