Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising in-school suspensions
- Be fully aware of student handbook and district policies
- Providing academic tutoring to students who are performing at a basic academic level
- Assist students in ensuring smooth and timely student transitions through the building; such as the bathroom and lunchrooms
- Demonstrating effective communication and de-escalation skills with struggling students
- Effectively communicate with individuals of diverse backgrounds
- Responsible for documentation and record-keeping
- Ability to redirect students back to their tasks and manage conflicts that may arise
- Regularly reporting student progress to administration, teachers, and other school personnel
- Set a positive example for students in terms of behavior and professional appearance
- Supporting other building needs when no students are under suspension
- Attending additional training and professional development as needed
- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designee to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the school.
