Position Highlights
Spencer Hospital is a rural hospital located in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.
Summary:
- Responsible for running the day-to-day operations of Spencer Hospital's Outreach Clinic including scheduling in other outpatient departments-Respiratory Therapy and Wound Care
- Schedule, manage, and coordinate patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of clinic resources and minimizing wait times.
- Communicate with patients to confirm appointments, provide reminders, and address any scheduling inquiries or changes.
- Accurately enter and update patient information and appointment details in the clinic's scheduling system.
- Work closely with healthcare providers and administrative staff to coordinate schedules and ensure smooth Outreach clinic operations.
- Address and resolve any scheduling conflicts or issues that arise, maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of appointments, cancellations, and rescheduled visits for reporting and analysis purposes.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Healthcare experience preferred to include Scheduling in outpatient departments and knowledge in insurance and pre-authorizations
- High level of computer technical skills preferred
- Excellent communication skills, including direct communication and phone etiquette, must be a highly organized individual and a team player
Schedule:
- Full time benefit eligible which includes paid time off, health dental, vision, IPERS, gym membership, plus more!
- 8a-4:30p typical shift, may vary
- Monday - Friday variable, possible weekend/evening shifts.
- The schedule may fluctuate based upon needs of the department
