Video Service Associate

Spencer Municipal Utilities (SMU) is a successful municipally owned utility provider currently seeking a full-time Video Services Associate. We are seeking a team player with experience serving in a customer-focused operation. SMU has proudly met the electric and water needs of local Spencer, Iowa residents since 1942. Telecommunication service offerings were added for the community in 1997.

The ideal candidate would be a self-motivated, detailed oriented individual responsible for assisting the SMU local programming department with video production. Duties will include but are not limited to; production of local programming events in the community, production of advertising and other video projects. Candidate will also assist with maintaining the public access channel bulletin board. This position works indoors and outdoors and is subject to all types of weather conditions. Flexible scheduling and hours which will include some evenings and weekends.

Our Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or GED.

• One (1) to three (3) years video production experience is desired, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• To perform this job successfully a qualified individual should have knowledge with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), desktop publishing and video editing software or the ability to learn. Experience with video production, including the use of video cameras and video editing systems a plus.

• Required to possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license and meet SMU insurability requirements
