What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at Spencer Ogden?
Spencer Ogden is supporting one of our clients in their search for a Logistics Specialist to join their team in Orlando, FL or Raleigh, NC. This will be a 1-year W2 contract.
This role will focus on managing the logistics of large equipment shipments from a manufacturing facility in Europe to the U.S. and customer sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide logistics support to the project team, including pricing, contracting, and delivery coordination.
- Interface with sales teams to discuss logistics concepts, pricing, and delivery plans.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping companies, and customs for smooth transport and documentation.
- Maintain clear communication with project managers and customers to ensure delivery timelines are met.
- Develop and nurture supplier relationships and assist in onboarding.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong project logistics experience, particularly with heavy shipments (50,000 lbs).
- Proven ability in customer service and customer-facing roles.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, trucking companies, and international logistics processes.
- Understanding of INCOTERMS and their impact on pricing and risks.
- At least 4 years of experience in logistics or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with international shipping and customs processes.
Salary : $50 - $55
