Key Responsibilities

  • Support the MEP Project Manager in identifying and evaluating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Assist in developing scopes of work and project schedules within the overall construction timeline.
  • Estimate costs for self-performed MEP work and contribute to full project estimates.
  • Coordinate and oversee all trades throughout the construction process.
  • Select and negotiate with qualified bidders.
  • Prepare and review reports, including cost tracking, billing, and status updates.
  • Maintain up-to-date drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy in project execution.
  • Assist in pricing, drafting changes, and managing change orders.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by overseeing on-site construction activities from pre-startup to completion.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractor work while tracking productivity and material usage.
  • Serve as the on-site Safety Officer when required and uphold company safety protocols.
  • Manage procurement of tools and materials in alignment with project schedules.
  • Lead on-site teams, resolve workforce concerns, and uphold quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school with a minimum of 10 years of construction experience OR at least 15 years of increasing responsibility in construction.
  • Experience in light/heavy industrial projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, financial reports, and contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and scheduling software (MS Project is a plus).
  • Independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a self-motivated work ethic.
  • Ability to travel to project sites across the United States and internationally, based on project needs.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and use of hands/arms.
  • May need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions, including weather, mechanical parts, high places, fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise.
  • Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • May oversee multiple supervisors and support staff.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, and team development.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
