Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and strategic Vice President (VP) to join our growing energy transition private equity fund. The VP will play a pivotal role in sourcing, evaluating, and executing investments across the energy transition space. This includes working closely with senior leadership to develop and refine investment strategies, leading due diligence efforts, and managing portfolio companies to achieve both financial and sustainability goals.
As a key member of the investment team, the VP will have significant exposure to senior stakeholders, investors, and portfolio company leadership. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in private equity or venture capital, a solid understanding of energy markets and technology, and a passion for sustainability and the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Sourcing and Execution:
- Identify, source, and evaluate investment opportunities across renewable energy, decarbonization technologies, sustainable infrastructure, and energy efficiency sectors.
- Lead or assist in the due diligence process, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and competitive analysis.
- Structure and negotiate investment terms, coordinating with legal, financial, and technical teams to ensure favorable terms for the fund.
- Manage the investment process from initial evaluation through to deal closing, ensuring alignment with the fund’s strategic objectives.
Portfolio Management and Value Creation:
- Actively support portfolio companies to drive growth, operational improvements, and achievement of ESG targets.
- Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to help them execute strategic initiatives, optimize performance, and enhance value.
- Monitor the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, providing recommendations for improvement and identifying exit opportunities.
Strategic Leadership and Market Insights:
- Stay informed on market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes within the energy transition sector to provide thought leadership and inform the fund’s strategy.
- Contribute to the development of the fund’s investment strategy and help identify new areas of investment focus and geographical opportunities.
- Represent the fund in external meetings, conferences, and industry events to build relationships and enhance the fund’s visibility in the energy transition space.
Qualifications:
Education: A master’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field (e.g., MBA, MS in Finance, Economics, or Energy) is preferred.
Experience:
- At least 7-10 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, or investment banking, ideally with a focus on energy transition, clean technology, renewable energy, or sustainable infrastructure.
- Proven track record of sourcing, executing, and managing investments in the energy, infrastructure, or technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, policy frameworks, and emerging technologies in the energy transition space.
- Experience in managing deal teams and working with senior executives and external advisors.
- Familiarity with ESG metrics, sustainability reporting, and impact measurement is a plus.
Salary : $250,000 - $300,000
