Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Learning & Development will be responsible for supporting Spencer’s and Spirit’s learning and development strategy, growing the learning and development program for home office associates, supports comprehensive leadership development programs and measuring impact. The successful candidate will also be responsible for aiding in the design, development and the execution of the organization’s learning and development curricula as well as reporting on training needs and results.
- Supports and occasionally leads the design, development and implementation of comprehensive leadership development programs from early career to executive coaching
- Partner with business leaders and SMEs to identify learning needs, understand learners, conduct needs assessments and develop learning solutions
- Facilitate organizational learning and development programs and workshops to associates and managers.
- Apply instructional design and adult learning theory to aid in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of learning and development programs which may include instructor led, eLearning and blended learning programs.
- Track and report training program usage and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Conducts and/or identifies resources and tools for team development, such as teambuilding sessions and other interventions.
- Collect feedback on sessions from attendees to use for future improvements to content and presentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field with a strong passion for developing people
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years of corporate learning and development, HR/OD experience preferred
- Background in facilitation, instructional design, curriculum development and knowledge of adult learning methods.
- Possess strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to analyze data effectively to “tell the story” behind the information
- Able to multitask with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with the ability to convey materials & data in a modern and visual manner
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and able to work in a team environment
- Possess strong leadership and influence skills to be seen as a partner to the business
- Outgoing, high energy, and enjoy frequent interaction with others
- Proficiency in using training software and tools (e.g., Articulate, InDesign, or similar e-learning authoring tools) helpful but not required
