Responsibilities
The Customs Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of import entries into North America, adhering to federal regulations. This role supports the Customs Compliance team and requires a solid understanding of commercial import documents. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential, as well as proficiency in data analysis and reporting. A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date on regulatory changes is key to success in this role. The ideal candidate will combine attention to detail with a proactive approach to compliance.
- Ensuring that entries for Customs brokers are prepared and filed with US Customs at least 5 days prior to the arrival of shipments
- Reviewing import documents for accuracy, addressing any discrepancies or anomalies with vendors to ensure compliance with regulations
- Possessing a strong understanding of Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) and ensuring that accurate information is provided to Customs brokers for proper filing
- Generating and maintaining daily reports on pending import shipments to track their status and ensure timely clearance
- Assisting the Customs team with process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing operations and enhancing efficiency
- Monitoring and calculating vendor non-compliance chargebacks, ensuring that issues are addressed in line with company policy
- Performing other duties as needed to support the overall function of the Customs Compliance team
Qualifications
- Proven experience in handling customs entry processing, ensuring compliance with regulations and deadlines
- Strong skills in Excel for data manipulation, reporting, and analysis, enabling efficient tracking and decision-making
- Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, brokers, and team members to address issues and ensure accurate processing
