Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized HR professional with expertise in Workers' Compensation and Unemployment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing workers' compensation claims, conducting unemployment wage audits, and generating comprehensive reports to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of relevant regulations and processes.
- Oversee and manage workers' compensation claims from initiation to resolution, including reporting incidents to insurance carriers, tracking claim status, to ensure timely resolution
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workers' compensation laws and regulations, including OSHA reporting requirements
- Collaborate with insurance providers, healthcare professionals, and legal teams to facilitate claim resolutions and manage associate return-to-work
- Act as a point of contact for associates regarding workers' compensation claims and provide guidance throughout the claims process
- Oversee and manage daily unemployment claims from initiation to completion. Track claim status, address, and resolve discrepancies or issues identified, work closely with third party unemployment administrators, and state unemployment agencies to ensure a timely resolution
- Prepare and organize documentation for unemployment wage audits, hearing notices, and unemployment determinations ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Verify and reconcile payroll data, employment records, and other relevant documentation to support audit processes
- Review and evaluate workers' compensation and unemployment reporting, present findings in a clear and actionable format for HR management
- Manage and train temporary support to assist during peak season
- Responsible for the timeliness of employment verifications
- Perform related work as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of five years of workers' compensation claims experience, or Benefits Generalist experience is preferred
- Understanding of workers' compensation laws, unemployment regulations, and audit processes
- Multi-state experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Independent self-starter
- Knowledge of claims database systems and reporting
- Technical aptitude and proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing and reporting data
