Responsibilities
The Senior Assistant Designer will support the development and execution of costumes and accessories for proprietary merchandise. This position will collaborate internally and externally to ensure seamless development from concept to pre-production.
- Assist in the development process of children, tween and adult costumes and accessories
- Illustrate and provide clear direction to overseas vendors
- Prepare sample submissions for licensors, and assist with preparation for product review meetings
- Assist in line sheet presentation boards for internal review
- Create comprehensive tech packs
- Oversee the end-to-end process of taking designs from concept through to pre-production samples, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards
- Degree in Apparel Design & Production or Costume Design from two or four-year college or university; and 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrates knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as Design Programs, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Knowledge of fabrics and garment construction as well as tech pack creation
- Process-driven with strong follow-up and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
