Data Analyst specializing in Data Migration to support the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from legacy systems to new platforms. This role involves data mapping, validation, cleansing, and reconciliation to ensure smooth migration with minimal data loss or inconsistencies. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL skills, experience with ETL tools, and a deep understanding of data structures and migration best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Extraction & Transformation:
- Extract data from legacy systems, databases, or third-party applications.
- Perform data mapping between source and destination data structures.
- Transform data formats and ensure schema compatibility in the target system.
Data Analysis & Validation:
- Analyze data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before migration.
- Identify and resolve duplicates, missing values, and inconsistencies.
- Conduct data profiling and cleansing to maintain data integrity.
Data Migration Execution & Testing:
- Assist in ETL process development using data migration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory).
- Support batch and incremental migration strategies.
- Validate migrated data through record counts, checksums, and business logic validation.
Data Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Develop reports to track migration success, error rates, and exceptions.
- Work with stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies.
- Provide post-migration analysis and support for any data-related issues.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and project managers to define migration requirements.
- Maintain clear data mapping documentation and migration logs.
- Support audit and compliance processes by ensuring proper data governance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- SQL (Advanced): Strong experience in queries, joins, data transformation, and stored procedures.
- ETL & Data Pipelines: Experience with Azure Data Factory and SSIS IDE.
- Data Visualization & Reporting: Tableau, Power BI, or Excel.
- Data Warehousing: Experience with Cloud Services and SQL Server.
Soft Skills:
