Senior Civil Designer – Water/Wastewater

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to lead the development of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role requires extensive experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including grading, pressure pipe networks, and complex utility design. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience in civil design, working on municipal and private-sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of water and wastewater systems, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plant site layouts.
• Utilize Civil 3D for grading, alignments, profiles, corridors, and pressure pipe networks.
• Prepare detailed construction plans, profiles, and utility coordination drawings.
• Perform earthwork calculations, drainage analysis, and hydraulic modeling integration.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor junior designers and CAD drafters.
• Coordinate with survey teams to integrate topographic and GIS data into design models.
• Conduct quality control reviews on design drawings and construction documents.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and regulatory agencies to optimize project outcomes.
• Assist in cost estimation, project scheduling, and client presentations.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field (preferred).
• 10 years of experience in civil design, specializing in water/wastewater infrastructure.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, including expertise in grading tools and pressure pipe networks.
• Strong understanding of hydraulic principles, utility coordination, and municipal design standards.
• Experience preparing bidding and permitting documents for public and private projects.
• Ability to lead design efforts, provide mentorship, and oversee project deliverables.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with StormCAD, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or InfoWater.
• Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) for utility mapping.
• Knowledge of local design codes, AWWA standards, and permitting processes.
